I've been suffering from waves of depression since high school. I also haven't taken medication for it since high school because I had a horrible experience with zoloft then. As the years go by (I'm 30 now), there's less and less of the depression. It still hits though, and it hits hard. It hit yesterday and I wouldn't leave the house or finish the flyer for a show I'm playing when all my friends were out hammin it up. Sometimes I feel like such a worthless piece of shit for no reason at all for like a day or two. It sucks. It interferes with my relationships and leads me to get in bad relationships. After reading this endorsement from one of the only bloggers I EVER read, I think I'll research some medication. I remember getting off Lexapro a few years back - I was on it for situationally related depression, not imbalance, so when I worked through my shit it was time to get off. The first week was nuts - like my brain was on tilt, and everything was happening in a dimension .01 seconds away from the dimension I inhabited. Made for some really interesting solo-driving experiences, and I took some time off from work for it.
