ok. check it out, you are just curious. i only say this because i have a stone butch sister (foster sister). We met in a foster home when we were like 15 and she was already butch. I asked her the same exact questions after a few years of knowing her. the way she put it to me was "I get pleasure from giving pleasure." and i thought about that and at first it didn't make sense. and i thought exactly the same about the whole shame of self thing, but later when the topic came up again (because i am curious too, and i wont let something this juicy just rest)she offered the perspective of a man who really likes to eat pussy. and those weird fuckers are out there. I don't mean the guys who like to go down and then trade, but the guys who purely just want to watch you squirm as they rub their face in your crotch. I've met them, they exist and it kinda blew my mind at first but looking at it from that perspective eased my curiosity. sure it's easy for me to get all psycho-babel and claim that they hate themselves, but really thats not true for all of the stone butches. the reality is that your friend and my foster sister came off the pedestal of being an iconic androdgeoness goddess of strength and power when she revealed her source of pleasure, which happens to be a lack of pleasure for you and me, which mind fucks us to the place of thinking "you don't accept pleasure the same way i do, so therefore there must be something wrong with you" really, stone butches are just people too, and they just have different proclivities to how they accept sexual pleasure. also i live in the sf bay area and at least 60-80% of my friends are LBGT or have some other kind of sex label. I've noticed that with many of my lesbian friends that have been in a relationship for a long period of time just kind of stop having sex. either all together, or once every few months. i think that with lesbians in particular sex is a disposable accessory(so to speak). they can take it or leave it. i think it goes along with the theory that women don't lust for sex as much as men do. not that we don't want it or need, we just don't lust for it the same way men do.
i hope you and your friend make up. i'm sure you will if you haven't already. i doubt this is the first time she's been asked those kinds of questions, and if it is then at least it was a good friend that came out with all the curiosities and she can be a bit more prepared for when some one a bit more harsh comes along. being curious about our friends keeps relationships open and moving. we cant always just get fucked up and bullshit each other all the time.
