I feel you here. I ain't did shit either to get Barack elected except vote for him in a safe state where he had a 25-point lead. Daring levels of patriotism, right? Oh and I'm black-white like him so there's that too. I mean there were people making calls and going door-to-door. Work!
I would have actually been relieved if McCain/Palin had won. Now I have to somehow create some half-assed attempt at justifying the Obama presidency with my eloquence of words because that is what is the new cool now. At least a McCain/Palin win would have allowed me to keep throwing stones and keep my cynical cred up to date.
Now? Fuck! Now I have responsibilities and a whole line of conservative "I told you so" types ready to engage me in some smackdown discussion about our new Muslim, socialist, Nazi president. I will lose every time because I really, deeply don't even give enough of a shit to even check Wiki on politics. I just wanted to win. And win we did, bitch ass Republicans.

You've got to anticipate a hipster backlash though... All across America, millions of hipsters are looking at the shepard fairey poster they paid 200 bucks to have framed and realizing that they're in the position of die-hard, been-there-since-the-beginning U2 fans after "The Unforgettable Fire" was released.

I never really was much of a joiner and am not at the right location or age to be a hipster. You should read the merciless fun Bike Snob NYC has skewering them and their poser bikes (really it is the only other truly funny blog that I read). I don’t know what those silly cunts think. I do think that some of them actually put down their PBRs long enough to do something about the election, calls for MoveOn or something. Bless their pale tattooed stick-like limbs.
So, nobody has a leg to stand on being a cynic now that President Obama has been crowned king? OK then, so be it. I’m only cynical about sexual relations, human relationships, food ingredients and professional cycling.
