This is one of the most incredible pieces of tape I've ever heard; It's brilliant and horrifying, and I hope not too many people hear it. Here; let me do my part by distributing it to thousands and thousands of people.

As you might be able to tell, the clip is from the Howard Stern show – because really, who else in mainstream entertainment has the balls to air something this brilliant. For all of you who think Howard Stern is just a Racist Sexist Fuck™, I think this clip should go a long way toward proving that there's more to his show than Black Jeapordy and Porn Star Orgasms.
But listen – extreme entertainment aside, what does this clip mean?
Well, clearly the clip makes it very easy for Aryan Nation enthusiasts to say "well, they just ignorant niggers." Careful though Cleetus, if you write it off that easy, you're missing the larger point:
I would argue that the people in this interview are representative of a much larger percentage of the American population than most of us would like to believe; Remember that we're a country that whose citizens read an average of less than one book a year and can't find Iraq (or as this Palinesque candidate explains, even the US itself) on a world map.
Clearly this sample was culled from a larger sample of less-clueless individuals who made for less-funny interviews. Still, this sample supports my gut feeling that a percentage of the country a) is clueless and b) feels very strongly about the coming election.
It's a remarkable, very popular combo: passionate and clueless.
One frightening thought is that the election is likely to be decided by people who fit into this category. So the question is - which group is likely to mobilize in greater numbers:
a) People who will instinctively vote for Obama because he's Black, younger, better looking, physically stronger, and doesn't walk like Frankenstein.
b) People who will instinctively vote for McCain because they hate niggers, or because they suspect Obama's a terrorist, or because McCain is white, older, and is a war hero.

Honestly? We're back to my whole problem with democracy. Letting people PICK? Nonsense. I try to rest easy by reminding myself that America is a republic, & that these people at least aren't making the call themselves. Still, it bothers me. I don't know that I have a pithy "better" answer, though.

It's completely visceral now (and has been for, what? Ever?). Policy, scandal, and fitness do not matter. I wore a "Team Palin" button to an Oktoberfest in a very liberal Maryland community yesterday. Sneers from the Obama fans (but not a word toward this black man). But the McCainiacs were THRILLED! I love humanity. I do. I love its stories and its inspiration to continue on in the face of certain disaster. But, you know, I hate people. I hate these people. These people are everywhere.
These are the same people who sit in their cars in front of my building with their car stereos on 11 at 2 am on a Sunday night. These are the same people who get mortgages that they know damn well they can't afford, somehow making it the responsibility of the rest of us to bail them out. These are the same people who change legislation to make mortgages available to those people who can't afford one in the first place and have no business asking for one. These are the same people who inspect bridges that fall down a week or a month or a year later. These are the same people who fly planes into buildings because they don't think for themselves. These are the same people who make up lies about WMDs as a way of justifying an invasion.
I hate these people. Collectively, they have WAY too much power and they fuck up the world for the rest of us. And I HATE them.
I think the race card is pretty powerful on both sides of the coin but i reckon the numbers of black mobilised by a black president with/without knowing or agreeing with his policies is going to be vast. I mean who would have thought a couple of years ago that a black US president could be a possibility.
Without even considering race, most people haven't got a fucking clue about politics or any real interest and purely decide to vote for a candidate based on aesthetic qualities that they can relate to.
Okay here's a question for the BN public and any poli sci majors out there -
The main knock on Socialism as an economic system is that equal distribution of wealth isn't fair because not everyone does the same amount of work and therefore Capitalism is a better representation of who's contributing what (in theory anyways).
Well by that rationalization how can you accept democracy, given that everyone has equal say even though, clearly, there are those who do more 'work' to be politically/sociall conscious than the knee jerk retards who nonetheless get a vote that's worth just as much as anyone else's.
I've had a hard time reconciling, philosophically, how capitalism and democracy are supposed to work in synergy given that they seem to have certain philosophical components that are diametrically opposed to each other.

You bring up a good point, but I think it just proves to show that we don't really have a democracy. It's very clear that 80% of the population of this country have no power, none whatsoever (regardless of what o_b_g thinks about people with car stereos and their oppressive noise). This is the reason we still have "free speech" because it doesn't matter what we say, no one is listening.

I'm a little late with the response, but I agree completely. If you don't put forth the effort to educate yourself on the issues, you shouldn't be allowed to vote. We currently REGISTER voters; we need to LICENSE them.
A simple test will suffice. I'm not suggesting that you need to be able to do advanced Calculus. Just simple stuff, like:
-Who's running.
-Who their running mate is
-What political party each belongs to
-What political party the CURRENT officeholder is a member of (whether incumbent or lame duck)

I've been considering the racial stereotype issue for a long time and have finally figured out how to reconcile (for myself) the PC mantra against the undeniable facts which clearly support the stereotypes.
First, by way of background, I am from a slightly similar place as BN. Totally different story, so no comparison, I mean the same environment: the neighborhood (UWS in the 1970s) and preppy private schools on scholarship (I am Jewish, but believe it or not, there used to be lower middle class Jews in NYC). Believe me, the class warfare between rich and poor jews is not f-in Romper Room. In fact, when you are the same color, the rich kids can openly insult your cheap clothes and apartment without fear of reprisal from teachers for being 'racist'.
Anyway, I had friends of all backgrounds and I was actually TAUGHT racism in my school. Having grown up playing in Riverside Park, I had no idea I was different from my buddies until the teacher said so. In fact my black friends had more Star Wars toys than me, so I was surprised when I was told we were different, and somehow I was guilty of something bad.
The solution comes from the same teachers. You see, I believe that while everyone cannot be judged on skin color, they can be judged on the 'uniform' they choose to wear. This means Hip-Hop types, Rednecks, Hassids, Queeny homos, spoiled suburban brats, etc. Basically, if I can see your underwear or if you can't form a complete sentence in normal english, I am not interested in being within 10 feet of you. It's not right to judge someone by their race, but it is totally fair to judge them by the type of people they call friends and their group's general 'attitude'.
Bottom line, the answer to racism is elitism. Therefore Obama, the elitist, has my vote.
