Here's my question, O Blognigger.
Many white people living in Harlem, Bushwick, etc. have noticed a certain tendency among your co-racialists to group lazily on street corners, brag about how much they receive in food benefits, complain loudly and obscurely about inconsequential matters, eat poorly, slap their children in public, etc. Mr. Obama alluded to such behavior in his recent Father's Day address. ("Don't feed your children cold Popeye's for breakfast; don't let them drink eight sodas a day; stop watching Sportscenter all the time," etc.)
My question: If Obama becomes President, how will his ascension affect black behavior? Will he force the community to improve its game and uplevel their general attitude, or will having a black President make blacks become even more comfortable and resentful than they are presently.
Follow-up question: Will you accept the Vice-Presidency if offered?
@ Seth: what you are discussing here is class, not race. i assume you've heard the term poor white trash? trash is trash and race, a social construct, has nada por nada to do with it. ask a real question.
@Saucytart: You can have your own opinions about what constitutes a question or not.
You can also have your own opinions about the meaning of race.
I suggest you start your own blog where politically correct filters will only allow commentary that accepts the "social construction of race" as a proven fact, rather than received opinion.
The glorious and revolutionary Blognigger has already postulated on his site that race and brain chemistry are intimately related. Hence I have asked a question that sidesteps the facile compartmentalization that you demand.

@Seth: I live in Prospect Heights. I see black people hanging out on the corner, chatting etc. Whether they are doing so "lazily" I cannot tell. Some do smoke and some seem to be less than healthy. I haven't seen anyone slap their children, although I have heard them yell at their children when said children are about to careen into me, the gentrifying white lady.
I like that there are people spending time together outdoors. I moved into the city from the suburbs for a reason!
